Wow! Wow! Wow!  Yes, this was a 3-wow story.  With a deep-felt heartache that grips you through the whole book it was next to impossible to put down.  Fragments of Ash has a story line unlike anything I have ever read.  It was refreshing to read something unique and entertaining.  With the horrific subject of abuse, I was impressed the Katy Regnery donates a portion of this book sale in the month of October to a women’s center. Fragments of Ash is a wonderfully told story and I highly recommend it.  I devoured this book and it consumed me as well.  

Ashley Ellis’s mother is dead.  Her stepfather now wants to marry her and make her have lots of babies.  Never mind that Ashley is only eighteen and he is fifty-one, also he repulses her.  With a short reprieve to finish her last month at boarding school Ashley knows she must escape, the only person she can turn to is her mom’s former best friend and her godfather, Gus.  Julian Ducharmes lives in the middle of nowhere and he lives there for a reason.  When Gus shows up and says Julian MUST share the house he’s renting with a blond hair, blue eyed girl Julian doesn’t want to.   The longer Ashley stays at the house though, the more Julian seems to find interest in her.  Figuring out that Ashley is hiding Julian promises to protect Ashley.  Now it’s just a matter of time to see if he can live up to his promise.
