Wow, what a trip!  The Lies We Tell by Becca Steele is mind boggling.  This is the first book in The Four series, and it was GREAT!  I have read other books by Steele, but I have to say this is my favorite so far.  A great story line with romance and mystery I just couldn’t put it down.  Mrs. Steele get to writing, because I need book 2, like NOW.  I loved the gutsy heroine and the Four, yes Four men that grace the pages of this book.  Caiden the ringleader, his little brother Weston the tech geek, Cassius the joker and Zayde the no nonsense bad boy will leave you panting and wanting more.  5 stars for The Lies We Tell by Becca Steele.
Winter Huntington needs answers and the only way to get them is to try and get close to her estranged mother.  With her father now gone Winter needs to find out what happened to him and if her mother had anything to do with his “accident”.  When Winter transfers colleges she knows that she will eventually have to meet her new stepbrothers, but they were not what she expected.  Caiden and Weston are gorgeous and complete opposites of each other, throw in their two best friends Cassius and Zayde, Winter doesn’t know how she will survive.  Things between the five start off rough and go up and down from there and the lies that are told seem to be twisting tighter around all of them.  One way or another Winter will get to the truth, she just hopes to be alive to tell the tale.

Before I knew what I was doing, I’d thrown the mushrooms into the pan and was stepping right up to him, so close that I could feel the heat from his body as he glared down at me. “You might want to wash your hands. They’re looking a little pink, King Caiden.”

He stepped even closer, his body pressing into mine, and I suddenly found it difficult to breathe. “King Caiden, huh? If I’m the king, then get on your knees and worship me.”
A shudder ran through me at his low, harsh rasp. I met his dark gaze, seeing the barely restrained fury clear in his eyes, and I steeled myself, welcoming the anger that surged within me, smothering the lust. “Fuck you,” I spat through clenched teeth. “If you’re insinuating that I can suck your dick, I’d rather choke to death on my own vomit than have that anywhere near my mouth.”

Becca Steele is a contemporary romance author from the south of England, where she lives with her husband, two kids, and various animals.
