Whiskey eyes that pull you in and will never let you go. Portrayal: Whiskey Promises by A R Thomas is book one in the series and it is explosive. I loved the story and the underlying messages that were written in, but some parts of the book confused me. In one portion of the story Lily is a strong, independent woman and then other parts she is too unguarded and makes herself too vulnerable for her history. Lily was just a little contradicting from what I think was trying to be expressed. Jace was not the usual broody, dark mega-millionaire. Taking a line from Lily he gave me “whiplash” with his personality. I did love the storyline and can’t wait for the next book to come out so I can see how Jace and Lily’s relationship plays out. The book was riveting and kept me on edge the whole time I read because I truly had no idea what would happen next. *Kudos* to A R Thomas for the latest release of Portrayal: Whiskey Promises an excellent 5-star read.
